Oh to be so clean
I cleaned the living room yesterday - okay, I put some stuff away and used the Hoover. I should totally get a medal or something.
I was actually inspired by the ApartmentTherapy Fall Color contest which is underway. While my living room isn't quite as fancy as the rooms pictured in the contest we're still very happy with the wall color. We got lucky - it's soothing in the summer and refreshing in the winter. If only I'd been so good with the office color. Next time, color wheel. Next time!

Before I even read your post, I looked at the picture and thought "Cool color!"
I like that color much better than the blah sage in my living room. Hmmm... now you have me thinking.
Our bathrooms are more sagey green - so I have a ton of green in the house. But the boudoir is mellow aqua called Waterfall. I was pushing for a soft orchid color but Deeps wasn't so excited about purple. Thwarted again!
what a terrific color. i want to read a book in that room.
Love your living room!
Will you be my interior designer when I move next summer?
So, it interests me that you call it a "Hoover." Is that a Midwestern upbringing peeking out here?

I am Midwestern, as you probably know - but I'll cop to calling stuff by the product name like Hoover (because it is a Hoover Windtunnel) or Hova which is the Ikea name for the chair in our guest room. It's weird, I know - and I've started hearing my husband do it too.
I'm always available for design consultations as long as somebody buys me a drink. And I don't actually have to do the painting....
That's really awesome!! Love the green!
Hi Allysa,
I know this is out of left field, but I'm trying a long-shot here...I have three IKEA Hova chairs (blue covers) in my waiting room (therapist) and one of them got a stain on the seat. I've been searching in vain for quite awhile for a replacement chair, or better yet, a cover. Would yours happen to be blue and if so, would you consider selling the seat slip cover (obviously you'd need a new chair, and that's where the selling part comes in)? IKEA could not help me with this...it's apparently been a discontinuted item for awhile, and I've tried everything else I know via the Web, both in the US and even internationally. Now I'm trying begging as well. Sigh. Might you be able to help?
Thanks a lot, either way,
Michele in NJ
